The BHF Centre of Research Excellence at SCMH launched its latest Call for Applications for Pump Priming Awards in early 2020. The objective of these awards is to provide seed funding to generate essential pilot data for grant applications that have a high likelihood of grant success.

Applications were reviewed by an external panel of experts and we are now pleased to announce that there were two applications that successfully met all the criteria.

On behalf of the BHF CoRE Executive Committee we would like to extend our congratulations to both:

 Dr Paul Connelly, who has been awarded seed funding in order to undertake miRNA extraction and analysis in a subset of the GENESIS-PRAXY cohort.

and,

 Professor Chris Loughrey, who has been awarded seed funding in order to establish and characterize the Glasgow CoRE model of HFpEF.

For more information on either of the awards, please contact the award-holders who will be happy to discuss.
